After moving into their new San Luis Obispo home, our clients found the yards cold and uninviting. They wanted space to relax in a hot tub and eat dinner outside as the sun sets. The house has a contemporary design which led our design team to use modern landscape styling, yet keep the overall feel over the space more down to earth and inviting. The site now features one of our signature staggered patio covers, a unique take on the standard pergola design. We used hardscape materials to accent the house and plants that make the space feel lush. The backyard features a gabion wall and large screening shrubs to provide privacy from the street. This yard is an excellent example of how landscaping can truly enhance the home and provide more living and entertaining space.
